Project Number 1

Summary:

Eight trials were conducted for a new non aerosol paint application system. The Enviro Caddie system provided a heavier coating in less time than the Traditional Spray Can system. The quality of the coating for the Enviro Caddie system was questionable due to the appearance of small craters throughout the tile. The Traditional Spray Can system required half the time to dry. This may be due to the fact that the Enviro Caddie System applied more paint to the surface than the Traditional Spray Can system. A follow study could be performed to compare drying time of equal amounts of applied paint. The Enviro Caddie System delivered a wider spray path than the Traditional System did. The Enviro Caddie system provided a larger concentrated area than the Traditional Spray Can system did. The TSC system provided a larger over-spray plume than the EC system did. The Enviro Caddie paint delivered more Acetone than the traditional system (4500 to 2500). Both systems delivered similar amounts of Ethyl Benzene (185 to 175 ) and Toluene and (210 to 225). The Enviro Caddie paint had more than twice the total organic vapor than the traditional system did (1200 to 543).
