To find a safe removal process for cleaning tar/asphalt from ballasts.

1 06/15/2000 To identify a safer cleaning process. Currently using WD-40 and D-limonene. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
2 06/15/2000 To further evaluate selected cleaners from previous testing. A follow up test, usually based on company input.
