Project Number 1
Summary:
A couple of aqueous products were identified and evaluated successfully for the removal of two types of buffing compounds. Ultrasonic cleaning with rotational energy was evaluated on supplied parts. U.S. Polychem Polyspray 790 P was recommended.Test Objective:
We are interested in replacing our current solvent with an aqueous cleanerProduct Use:
Brass lighting fixtures, indoor and outdoorTrial Number | Date Run | Purpose | Success Rating |
---|---|---|---|
0 | 03/27/2000 | To identify a replacement to Trichloroethylene in cleaning buffing compounds from brass fixtures. | Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined. |
1 | 03/28/2000 | To further evaluate cleaners from previous trial on second buffing compound. | Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined. |
2 | 03/29/2000 | To evaluate ultrasonic energy in the cleaning of supplied parts using. | A follow up test, usually based on company input. |
3 | 03/29/2000 | To evaluate rotational energy in conjunction with ultrasonic energy. | Results suggest a scale-up feasible match for cleaning chemistry and equipment. Pilot plant study with actual parts recommended. |
