Trial Purpose:

Laboratory evaluations of alternative cleaning products

Experiment Procedure:

Basic cleaning performance testing was conducted using ASTM G122 as the bases for cleaning. 

Cleaning : 5 min. immersion cleaning at 120 F with stir-bar agitation.
Rinsing : 1/2 min. manual with water at 120 F.
Drying : 1 min with heat gun at 500 F.
Contaminant : Elf Lubricants - Keystone KSL - 111 - Diester based grease.

Success Rating:

Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.

Conclusion:

Non of the cleaners were effective.
