Basic cleaning performance testing was conducted using ASTM G122 as the bases for cleaning.
Cleaning: 5 min. immersion at 120 F with stir-bar agitation.
Rinsing: 1/2 min. manual with water at 120 F.
Drying: 1 min. with heat gun at 500 F.
Contaminant: Paint- Nybco Designer color-satin finish. 4660-country blue.
Contains: Toluene, Xylene, Acetone
Trial Results:
Westech CT-1550 worked very well. Other cleaners were not effective. Westech 4712 seemed to have some effect so was put for 30 min. and then coupons were wiped but was not effective.
Success Rating:
Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.
