Basic cleaning performance testing was conducted using ASTM G122 as the bases for cleaning.
Cleaning: 5 min Immersion cleaning with stir-bar agitation @ 120 F, ambient
Rinsing: 1/2 min, manual, in 120F water (tap), ambient
Drying: 1 min with heat gun @ 500F
Contaminant: Steco Corp, Tap Magic Protap (cutting fluid)
CAS# 112-80-1(>75%) Aliphatic organic acid
112-62-9 (<15%) Aliphatic organic ester
Success Rating:
Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.Conclusion:
The heated wash and rinse increased the effectiveness of all the cleaners.
