Basic cleaning performance testing was conducted using ASTM G122 as the bases for cleaning.
Cleaning: 5 min. immersion cleaning at 96 F with stir-bar agitation.
NO Rinsing
Drying: 30 sec. Air blow off using hose
Contaminant:
OIL - Cargill Inc AP 60 canola cas# 120962-03-0
Substrate 2 " x 2" aluminum coupons
Success Rating:
Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.Conclusion:
ES & GS both cleaned over 102% so damage t the aluminum is to be considered. There was no visible damage to the coupon so prior contamination or film on the coupon may have been cleaned off with these cleaners.
