Project Number 1
Summary:
Immersion cleaning had little effect on the dry lubricant with the selected cleaners. Ultrasonic energy was the used with the most effective products. All five cleaners (Brulin Corporation Brulin 815 GD, Gemtek Products SC Aircraft & Metal Cleaner, US Polychem Corporation Polyspray Jet 790 P, Oakite Products Inproclean 3800 and International Products Corporation Micro 90) were successful in removing over 95% of the lubricant using ultrasonic energy. In addition, two client requested products (Valtech Corporation MD 6000 and Valtron SP 2500) were tested and removed most of the lubricant through immersion cleaning only. Ultrasonic cleaning improved the efficiency of both cleaners. The SP 2500 needed less than 1 minute to remove nearly all the lubricant from the coupons. The MD 6000 removed most of the lubricant in 2 minutes but left residual amounts around the edges were the soil loading was the highest.Test Objective:
To remove graphite-based dry lubricant from inner lumen of hypotubeProduct Use:
