Trial Purpose:
To identify additional cleaning products for PVC removal.
Date Run:
12/11/2008Experiment Procedure:
Nine additional products were selected from the lab's on-line database, www.cleanersolutions.org, based on client supplied information and past testing results. All products were used at full strength. The supplied PVC tubing was cut into one inch pieces and immersed into each solution at room temperature. Observations were made at 10, 30, 60, 120, 240 and 480 minutes. Successful products were determined by touching/squeezing the tubing after each interval. If there was any surface change, the product was considered to be successful.
Trial Results:
Observations for each product at each interval are listed below using the following key:
NS - no sign of change |
NC - no change from previous observation |
SS - some softening |
LS - little softening |
MS - more softening |
TC - texture change |

A follow up test, usually based on company input. Conclusion:
The Shopmaster RC had results that were similar to the DBE 6 previously tested. The four products that showed the most signs of softening the PVC tubing will be retested at an elevated temperature.
