The TURI Lab was contacted to address cleaning issue surrounding PVC tubing that gets baked onto the equipment during a backup of the manufacturing process.
Collection of various plastic materials from the client was performed to be brought back to the lab for testing purposes. The belief is that the PVC needs to be softened enough to remove it from the complex tooling that the tubing gets wrapped around and into when there is a backup in their system.
The plan will be to take tubing, cut into small sections, large enough to pull and stretch it as it softens. Time frame may be flexible as company is looking into purchasing complete back up system to use during cleaning downtime.
