To remove all build up from the mold surface to allow a smooth cured tire surface.

The foreign material that is not removed during the cleaning process must be scrapped off by hand using a scrapping tool.
After unsuccessful testing with ultrasonics and aqueous solutions, baking soda media blasting was implemented. Parts were cleaned in under five minutes with no rubber remaining.
