To evaluate supplied product for color fastness compared to industry standard.
A section of Interface Flooring Systems, Inc. blue print parquet carpet was marked off into two sections. Each section was three square inches. A SPER Scientific Light Meter 840021 was used to measure Foot Candles from the surface of the carpet. Six reading were taken from each marked off section. Ten milliliters of full strength product were added into each section and allowed to soak into the carpet at room temperature. After 10 minutes a second set of light meter readings were taken. A final set of readings were also taken after a total of 60 minutes. Following the light meter readings, visual analysis was performed by two lab personnel to determine if there was any visible color difference in the carpet.
The light meter readings revealed that the full strength DFC Degreaser at room temperature had no effect on the color of the blue carpet. The Industry Standard product resulted in an increase in the light meter readings, signifying that the cleaner was causing the carpet to loose its color. Visual analysis by the two personnel resulted in the same conclusion.

At full strength and room temperature, the DFC Degreaser did not affect the color of the blue carpet where as the industry standard product caused the carpet to lose some of its color.
