12 laminate coupons were cut to equal size from the supplied laminate sheet. These coupons weights were recorded and 6 were then soiled with the wilsonart 3000 water-based adhesive and the remaining 6 were soiled with the jowat 288.60 hot-melt adhesive. After being allowed to air-dry for 2-3 hours, dirty weights were taken. The ICT-1690L and ICT-1691L cleaners were then prepared according to usage instructions provided by the supplier. The ICT-1690L was diluted in a 7:1 ratio and the ICT-1691L was diluted in a 2:1 ratio. Both mixtures were then heated to between 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit. The cleaner was then swabbed onto the coupons and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. After the time had passed, a dry cotton towel was used to scrub the coupon's surface to dislodge the adhesive. Following this, the coupons were allowed to air dry for 3-4 hours before final weights were taken.
The results of this trial show that the ICT-1690L formulation was more effective at removing both the Wilsonart and Jowat adhesives compared to the 1691L formulation. However, neither formulation was effective at removing the jowat adhesive, with the ICT-1690L only removing 8.81% of the soil.
