This test method, ASTM D 1792, stimulates a uniform mechanical standard to properly utilize the solution. It does not standardized how much percentage of soil will be removed.
Four VCT tiles were cleaned and applied with foil for again under 37 degrees Celsius for 3 days. The VCT tiles were cleaned using the Abrasion Tester. A scrubber was emerged into Meteor Floor Strip cleaner diluted to 12.5% with cold tap water previous to cleaning of the VCT tile for at least 1 minute. On the manual wipe, a constant pressure was applied on top of the silver cart as the machine is running. The first set of cycle on each VCT tile coupon is set to 1 cycle with the pad on the apparatus for manual wipe. After 1 cycle; each tile was manually cleaned with 50 increment wipes. After each 50 increments, two visual analysis were done on the tile. 50 cycles are performed until the tiles reach a 100% cleanliness in the visuals.
Qualitative rating according to the following terminology:
Removal Ease Number of Oscillations Required for Complete Removal
Excellent <50
Good >50 but <100
Fair >100 but <200
Poor >200
After 50 cycles, the aged coating was nearly all removed. After the additional 50 cycles (100 total) the removability of the soil on the tiles was good.
