SUBSTRATE MATERIAL: Aluminum 3003
REQUEST: Please send us information regarding the Al 3003 surface cleaning possibilities, the cleaning is done prior the laser weld process.
RESPONSE: The laboratory conducted a search for cleaning products that could be used safely on aluminum substrate. Additional criteria was added to the search to yield a smaller number of alternative cleaners. The parameters of the search were: aluminum substrate; oil, grease or lubricant contaminants; immersion or ultrasonic agitation; products currently in Surface Cleaning Laboratory. Table 1 lists the databases used.
