Here's is what the Safer Choice folks are looking for in the way of testing to show dirt removal:

While we don’t have a formal test method to recommend for this product type, we would want to see the following elements:

Compare product’s performance against water as a control. Report quantitative rather than qualitative (e.g., visual examination of the produce after product use) results. Address any performance claims made on the label, or that you would like to add to the label (e.g., removal of waxes, pesticides, dirt, oil, etc.). Methods should mirror product use instructions and any materials/residues used in the test should be representative of materials/residues customers would expect to encounter. Results should demonstrate >80% cleaning efficacy. We would be happy to work with you to review proposed methods before the test is conducted.

Want to demonstrate soil removal rates as compared to water and possibly a comparative product.

Need results for Safer Choice labeling

Testing method was developed at the TURI Lab that provided quantitative soil removal rates were higher than for water alone.
