Start Assessment
Create a P2OASys evaluation. When evaluating a formulated product, the first step is to identify all chemical ingredients, whenever possible. Hazard information can then be gathered for those chemical ingredients. The more information available, the more robust the assessment. In the "Assessment Information” box, describe how the product is used, product chemical ingredients, any process specific information, and author
Chemical
- Individual chemical using a single SDS. Must enter chemical name and CAS number
Product
- Evaluating a product with multiple chemicals but only using one SDS. Hazard information can then be gathered for those chemical ingredients and the more hazardous end point can be used in the assessment
Load From Database
Allows you to use a chemical or product that has been entered into the database and reviewed by TURI Staff
Search
TURI database contains chemicals by name or CAS number. Check the chemical and click on the submit button to add to current evaluation session
Compare Summary
The tool assigns scores ranging from 2 to 10 for each hazard endpoint for which information is entered, with a lower score indicating a lower hazard. These numeric values represent an approximate evaluation of relative hazard based on the information used. The values are only meaningful for comparison between alternatives for a specific application, not as a definitive value assigned to a chemical or product
Final Evaluation
The tool assigns scores ranging from 2 to 10 for each hazard endpoint for which information is entered, with a lower score indicating a lower hazard. These numeric values represent an approximate evaluation of relative hazard based on the information used. The values are only meaningful for comparison between alternatives for a specific application, not as a definitive value assigned to a chemical or product
Weighted Evaluation
P2OASys allows the user to provide greater or lesser emphasis on any of the eight categories depending on application or use priorities. In some situations, regulatory restrictions or customer specifications or a desired TUR focus might warrant giving one category more emphasis in the overall assessment

Save
Upload to Database
Upload a chemical or product to a PUBLIC P2OASys Database. Submit assessment to the online database where it will be reviewed by TURI and upon validation, added to the online database for others to use
Export Data to file
Download an assessment session to a CSV spread sheet so the values can be saved offline and used for future assessments
Import from file
Add in an assessment previously downloaded to a CSV file. Must be in the correct P2OASys layout to work
Hazard Score Matrix
Contains values and end points for each of the categories that are used to assess entered data. Maintained by TURI
