Unclean pieces are very visible and in rare circumstances staining or finishing would highlight unclean areas.
We have been told that the old fashioned flammable type strippers (usually a mixture of acetone, toluene, mek, etc) are ok to use but we are concerned by issues of cost and or flammability.
Three products were successful in removing the lacquer finish from the cherry wood sample provided by the client. Take Off Green and Citristrip removed the coating with little trouble whereas SI#4 required more effort to clean the coating. In addition to the client specific trial, additional reports from similar cleaning testing have been sent.
