Trial Number 0

Trial Purpose:

Laboratory evaluations of alternative cleaning products

Date Run:

07/02/1999

Experiment Procedure:

Nine products were used at 5% dilutions and heated to 130 F. Stainless steel coupons were coated with cutting oil (64741-89-5, 8052-42-4). Coupons were rinsed with tap water for 2 minutes.

Trial Results:

No unusual or unpleasant odors.  All cleaners had some effect.  The efficient cleaners caused immediate break-up of excess.  Thin layer of oil beaded up off the coupon surface to the top of the solution.

Success Rating:

Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.

Conclusion:

Master Chem Corp Trim Rinse 100 and Man-Gill chemicals Gillite 160 X showed approximately 98% removal.
