Trial Number 32

Trial Purpose:

To evaluate the chlorine concentration of two supplied products.

Date Run:

07/14/2006

Experiment Procedure:

Two supplied products were tested at full strength. In addition, Clorox and distilled water also were evaluated for comparative purposes.

One strip of Ecolab Chlorine Test Paper was inserted into each solution and immediately compared with the color chart provided. The concentration in parts per million were recorded for all products.

Trial Results:

Product Estimated Concentration (ppm)
DFC Sodium hypochlorite 0.02% 200
DFC Sodium hypochlorite 0.10% <10
Clorox Bleach <10
Distilled water 0

Success Rating:

A cleanliness study, addressing only various analytical techniques.

Conclusion:

The DFC Sodium hypochlorite 0.02% solution was the only product to cause the Chlorine Test Paper to drastically change color. The 0.1% solution and the Clorox bleach both changed the color but were lighter than the lowest measurement. The distilled water did not change the color at all.
