Trial Number 2

Trial Purpose:

To evaluate products from previous trial at higher temperatures.

Date Run:

Experiment Procedure:

Six products were selected from the previous testing results. Two products were diluted to recommended concentrations using DI water. The remaining four products were used at full strength. The supplied PVC tubing was cut into 2-3 inch pieces and immersed into each solution at 130 F. Observations were made at 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 50 minutes 60 minutes, 120 minutes and 240 minutes.

Trial Results:

The elevated temperature helped improve the deformation of the PVC tubing for four of the six products. Observations and rankings are listed in the table below.

Success Rating:

Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.

Two products were able to make the PVC tubing soft and stretchable. The DBE 6 product was by far the most promising. Follow up testing could include additional dibasic ester products at heat temperatures.
