Trial Number 10

Trial Purpose:

To evaluate aerosol stainless steel polish on stainless steel for gloss levels

Date Run:

06/04/2009

Experiment Procedure:

A Spectro Guide Gloss-Color meter from BYK Gardner was used to evaluate gloss. Baseline gloss readings of the surface were taken in five locations on stainless steel coupons. An aerosol product was then sprayed onto the surface, wiped off with a cotton rag and gloss readings were taken again in the same five locations. The difference in gloss-color was then compared to determine effectiveness.

Trial Results:

Weiman showed little difference in the post gloss from the pre gloss reading but was slightly lower. A00142 and 3M showed an increase in gloss with Spartan showing a significant increase in gloss when comparing pre to post readings. A00146 and Claire showed a decrease in gloss when comparing pre and post gloss measurements.
