Trial Purpose:

Determine if Supercritical CO2 would be effective

Experiment Procedure:

Valves were sent to an outside vendor to clean using the Supercritical CO2 method.
SUBSTRATE MATERIAL: Stainless Steel (Supplied from client)
CONTAMINANTS: Salts, corrosive deposits

Trial Results:

The method selected proved to be an inadequate means for cleaning the parts.  In fact, the method caused the valve to become more contaminated.

Success Rating:

Test showed little or no promise.

Conclusion:

Using Supercritical CO2 extraction to clean the valves would not be an effective method and should not be considered.
