Trial Number 450

Trial Purpose:

To remove maintenance soil from stainless steel using ultrasonic cleaning

Date Run:

06/17/2008

Experiment Procedure:

Basic cleaning performance testing was conducted using ASTM G122 as the bases for cleaning.

Products were selected based on the compatibility of substrate and for removal of the contaminant. Five percent concentrations were used and heated the samples at 104 F. The coupons were cleaned in a product for 20 minutes using ultrasonic cleaning, rinsed with tap water at 105 F and dried at room temperature using compressed air blow off. Coupons were coated with used maintenance soil using a handheld swab and allowed to dry for 20 minutes at room temperature. The contaminated coupons were weighed again to determine the amount of soil added. After cleaning process, the final weights were recorded, efficiencies were calculated and recorded.
