Project Number 1

Summary:

Aqueous products not effective on mold/release agents when using immersion and ultrasonics. Semi-aqueous products work well when using ultrasonic cleaning. The same products worked well on the other contaminants.

Test Objective:

To replace three hazardous chemicals in cleaning process.

Product Use:

Molds for wire coating
Trial Number Date Run Purpose Success Rating
0 03/15/2005 To identify alternatives for first process with mold release agents and resin Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
1 03/29/2005 To re-evaluate products for removing mold release agents only Test incomplete or inconclusive.
2 04/04/2005 To evaluate products for removing the mold release agents using ultrasonic cleaning. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
3 04/08/2005 To evaluate semi-aqueous products for mold release cleaning using heated ultrasonics. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
4 05/06/2005 To evaluate successful products under conditions closely matching current practice at client facility. Test incomplete or inconclusive.
5 05/06/2005 To re-evaluate products using heated immersion. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
